Xavier Pov:

Silence filled in the living room , everyone staring at me , not knowing what to say .

" So I am not your grandson afterall" I say looking at my grandfather. For the first I see his head dropping down .

All this years I've been kept in a lie .

I can't keep my anger in control right now. I am feeling betrayed .

" None of you are my family, you all lied on my face , straight" I shouted . I don't want to look at their faces . I couldn't bare looking at them right now .

But at the same time I want answers.

I sat directly in front of my grandfather , " where is my real family?" I asked him in dead serious voice.

He looked at me and said , " I don't know but we adopted you from this town itself , the orphanage near the old abandoned theatre "

It's the same orphanage from where Anne is , I thought

He continues, "Due to some issues , we had to adopt. I can't tell you the reason but understand one thing your mother was in deep trouble and to get out of that we had to do what we seem was right. We never treated you wrong , your mother loved you like her own son and still does infact we all do ."

He said in low soft voice , something in me stirs and I am overwhelmed right now. He is right, all my life I've got whatever I want  , I've been given the life so many people dream of , the lifestyle so many people worked hard for I got that without any hardwork.

But at this moment I can't shake out the fact that they lied to me .

I stood up from the chair. " I am grateful for the all the things that you have provided. And I love you guys still the same after all these but I can forget the fact that you all lied to me , kept the most important thing hidden from me all these years . I need some alone time to think "

After saying this I left for my room. I sat on my bed and think about all the events that have occured in these past weeks .

Staying in my room for 2 hours , I decided to text Anne.

" Hey , can we meet ? "

I hit send and wait for her reply . I decided to take a bath and change into some fresh cloths

After 15 minutes:

I came out after a cold shower and changed to some fresh clothes . I check my phone to see that I got a reply from Anne

"Hey , yes sure

Let's meet at old theatre at 7:)"

I check the time , it's still 5:30 . I lay down on my bed . I want to know everything about me and My real parents , I have so many questions in my head I need answers for .

Are my parents from the same town ? If yes then why did they give me up ? What was the reason? And where are they now? Alive or dead ?

All these things roaming in my head . I look at my watch it says 6:30 . I decided to take a walk to the old theatre.

After 20 minutes I reach there . I decided wait for Anne to come . Its getting dark and all the street lamp turns on . I see someone approaching, I recognise its her. She is looking ethernal , she let her hair down , I love it when she does that . I love how her hair flows in the air . As she gets near I can smell her intoxicating smell.

"Hey" she says as she comes near me .

" Hi, sorry to disturb you now . I just can't stay at my house , I needed to talk to you" I pleaded to her .

"Calm down Xavier, I know there must be something or else you wouldn't call me this late after what happened here last time "  she says and keeps her hand on my shoulder and runs it up and down on my arms .

Her touch instantly relaxes my body.

" I am adopted Anne" I announce suddenly. Her hands stops midway and looks at me in disbelief ,

" What are you saying, what do you mean by adopted?" She says

" Yes I am adopted, I was adopted from the same orphanage you grew up in " I say .

Her hands slip down from my arm , she looks at me

" who adopted you?"

"My grandfather adopted me " I say to her .

"Who's your grandfather?" She says in a uneven breathes . I look at her confused but still answer

"Mr. DAVID WILLIAMS "

Her eyes go blank and wide , she takes few steps backwards , "Your grandfather is Mr. Williams, oh my god, why didn't to tell me ? How did I not know this "

She rambles and starts to pace around.

As I approach her I see a van comes by . It all happened in mini seconds . From the van , few men gets down and catches a hold of Anne and two men takes me down . I keep shouting and fighting with them but they are way stronger. They take Anne and gets in the Van . I run behind , stumbled on a stone I fall down . I get up and starts running in the direction the Van went but I lost it , I can't spot it .

I stand there alone in dark 

"ANNE , ANNE " I shout, hoping to get some response.

I don't know what to do , what happened to her .

A ping ruptures through my thoughts. I look at my phone and there is a location from Anne . I open the pin and I find where she is . Her exact live location.

She is near the park , I run towards the park , as I reach there I couldn't see anything, there is no residence nearby but the location shows that she is near. I look around trying to see if I missed something. Something that could lead me to Anne.

After a while I still couldn't find anything but then a sudden scream echoes and I start to run towards the scream . I cross few bushes , thick forest and rambled through branches. I reach to a unknown land , I've never seen this land before. I here another scream , the screams are coming from a abandoned house . The house looks clean , the paint and texture, the condition of the house is very well maintained. I try to look inside and I hear another horrifying scream worst than before , not wasting another moment I broke the front door and run inside the house , desperately trying to find Anne. I follow the sounds in the house and reach a door . Swearing the above lord whoever is hurting Anne is going to meet him soon.

I slam the door with a hard kick and crack it open . There I see the most terrible , awful sight . My grandfather standing on top of Anne. Her hands getting crushed under his feet. Her face smashed against the floor and the most hurtful her red puffy eyes . Her eyes pleading me save her but fear is still lingering in her eyes.

I couldn't comprehend the situation. I sprint towards my grandfather and push him away. I see men approaching me but grandfather's instruction stops them .

"Leave her here and go home Xavier" he snarls at me.

I look at him dead in his eyes , "leave her alone ."

"She is trouble, can't you see? The moment you lead your eyes on her . She has caused nothing but trouble . She is the reason you got to know the adoption truth and she is the one who is causing rift among our family " , He shouts at me . I pick up Anne and bring her behind.

"I love her and there is no force in this universe that will make us apart from eachother, I love her and I will stand beside her no matter who she is to you . I will break every relation that binds me or forces me to leave her. She is my only relation , my god , she is my only prayer "

I announce it and I will stand firm to the words . My grandfather's eyes burns red after hearing me. He points the gun at Anne direction , she hids behind me. I dare him to shoot at me because there is no way I will let him hurt Anne.

I don't see my grandfather right now in front of me but a bastard who wants to take my life away from me .

"Move aside" he barks at me. I walk straight towards him.

"Kill me first " I say. I continue to get near him . I see a gun laying on the table nearby and I just got a clue . I take Anne's hand and keep her behind me . As I reach near him and table I turn around, coming face to face with Anne and hug her .

"Run out of the house and don't look back . I promise I'll meet you tomorrow" I say and look at her . Her face in denial, she shakes her head .

"As soon as I take the gun , Run and remember don't look back" I say to her again . I turn around to face my grandfather. There was no one in the room as he gave instruction to all his men to leave them alone.

In the seconds I ran towards the gun and grabbed it. I look at her and sign her to run . She is paralyzed to that position. I grab her hand and shake her while keeping the gun straight to my grandfather's head. I tell her to Run . She looks at me for one time and goes out of the room.

I point my gun straight at my grandfather and look at him , "leave her alone and we don't have to hurt each other" . He laughs at me and says,"you will kill me for that whore" , I shot directly at his legs , he falls down

Swearing at me .

I go near him , " I hope you got your lesson. Watch your mouth and think before you speak ill of her"

Keeping him in that state I turn around and start to leave the house. There's a can of gasoline near the door. I look at my grandfather and smirk . He understood what's is going in my mind and rapidly shakes his head . I start to sprinkle the gasoline all over the house . I go near him , "I hope I see you tomorrow at the house" I give him the time to run .

As I leave from the front door , I shoot at the lantern causing to lead the fire.

After a while the whole house is on fire. This fire is the evidence that whoever will try to hurt Anne will be burned to ashes and there will be no mercy .

I turn around and walk towards my house. As I reach to the park's exit I see Anne hiding behind a tree as soon as she looks at me , she sprint in my direction and jumps on me. I catch her and bring her to the nearby bench . She has been crying for 15 minutes , after a few minutes her heavy sobs turns   into whimper. I pick her up and walk towards her house .

As we reach there I ask her , "will you be safe here?"

She stays quite for a while before answering," I'll move out tomorrow. I have another place to stay near library I'll be safe there" .

I drop her to her house and make my way towards my home. I see the front door open. I enter and I see grandfather hurt and paramedics taking care of him . Nobody noticed me entering the house , I directly go to my room and take a fresh bath . I lay down on my bed after changing into new clothes.

I noticed it's 10 pm right now . I locked my door and tried to sleep but I couldn't as I thought about today's event, I'll talk to my grandfather tomorrow about whatever happened and sort things out.

But there is one thing for sure that has been cleared that I WILL GO AGAINST THE WORLD TO PROTECT ANNE EVEN IF I'LL HAVE TO DESTROY MYSELF .
